With my colleague Kiril Lefterov, we leaded for a weekend Romanian group with snowshoes. They needed to prepare for Elbrus summit (5642 m), Caucasus. So they came to Rila mountain for a training! We passed over Zeleni Rid (The Green Hill), reaching hut of Ivan Vazov, situated just between 7 Rila lakes and Rila monastery. Just before the night, we climbed a peak, near to the hut. From there we watched the sunset, truly exceptional one! For the next day we planed to pass closer to the 7 Rila lakes, but the fog and the avalanche danger pushed us to change our mind. So we decide to use the yesterday’s path. My first hiking group for 2011! =)<\/div>\n

In one day we made a trip to a Bulgarian mountain, which is not very famous. 80 km from Sofia city, on Bulgaria-Serbia border, is raising Rui mountain. From village of Zelenigrad we start hiking, first on a dirt road, then on a forest trail and soon – fully off-road. We passed by a constructed\u00a0 wild animals’ feeding place (there I was aware for meeting boars) and after that we saw human traces right on the top of Rui (1706 m). It was a sign, set by the Bulgarian geographic society in 1921. There we also found empty bottle of Zaichar beer, therefore Serbian tourists also visit this mountain \ud83d\ude42 For six hours we succeeded to climb up and to go down to our car; while listening Luciano Pavarotti (it fits so well!), we get back to Sofia.<\/div>\n
